Lego Lorax Small World

The Lorax Small World

Soo I might be about a month late with jumping on The Lorax bandwagon. I know everyone was playing with Truffula Trees back when the movie was released in the States about 6 weeks ago, but we had never heard of it until recently. Vin and I watched this 70's cartoon version online and he was hooked. So I picked up a copy of the book and we have been looking for moustached creatures in every tree stump since...

I had plans to make him some figures from the story and was going to use pegdolls inspired by these ones from In Lieu of Preschool - but I knew I would never find the blank pegs anywhere, so we freestyled with some Lego, googly eyes and craft foam.

Here is The Once-ler's Lurkem - with a green twisty pipecleaner arms for the faceless Once-ler

I love this bit in the book where up until now every page has been dark and grey and suddenly there is a burst of beautiful colours!

I seriously love this book (and the crazy catchy cartoon songs too) and I'm soo excited to see the film when it's released over here. Have you seen it yet? What did your kiddos think?

  2. This is such a great idea, my son loves his duplo but we're not very exciting with it. We'll definitely be giving this a go!
