'Where the Wild Things Are' TP Roll Puppets

You guys know by now I love any activity inspired by our favourite kid's stories. So I am super-happy to be pinning on the awesome Children's Book Activities and Crafts pinboard hosted by Kristina of Toddler Approved. Which is where I first saw this 'Where the Wild Things Are' craft which inspired our little cardboard tube puppets.

I guess my puppets are a bit more cute than wild, but it was still a lot of fun acting out our own wild rumpus!

The Wild Things didn't have names in the book, but in the movie (world's most depressing kid's film ever - yes even more than when Bambi's mom dies!) I think this Wild Thing is called Carol. I think this one is kind of goofy and cute looking, the one in the film is a lot of more miserable and angry looking!

p.s. If you have an abundance of TP rolls you might also be inspired by our TP Roll Superheroes. Red Ted Art also has a feature called Loo Roll Guess Who that is hilarious!

  6. Oh my goodness! So funny, we started making a Where the Wild Things Are sensory tub today with TP roll characters! I agree. Most depressing kids film ever! I had such high hopes for it with the awesome soundtrack from Arcade Fire. Still love the book though and your puppets are so adorable!
