Just a few quick pics of how we spent World Book Day last week - March 1st also seemed to be the first day of Spring (though you wouldn't have thought it given the downpours we had yesterday!) so we took our books outside for a little storytime picnic...
It's such a nice idea reading outside... I love to lie in the grass with a good book. As we were reading The Gruffalo the kiddos searched around the park for foxes and snakes (we did find lots of squirrels though).
You can add a whole new dimension to reading when you're outdoors - phrases like 'all was quiet in the deep dark wood' take on new meaning in little minds.
I need to find lots more stories set in forests and amongst trees now - any suggestions?
