Art in Process...

There's been a lot of talk about Process Driven Art lately - great posts like this one and this one and I thought I'd share a little glimpse into what process art looks like in this house....

...all these photos were taken during a ingle (hour long) painting session...

...colour mixing...

drip painting...

...ahem... experimental brush technique...

...blown through a straw painting...

...prehistoric creature painting...

...marine animal painting...

...with popsicle sticks...

(as Vin paints I unroll more and more paper and roll the painted end up so I don't have reams drying around the houe - as we're not interested in end product, this is easy to just chuck out when we're done!)

As I said, all this was in one painting session - we used brushes, straws, fingers, sticks, animals, dinosaurs, colour mixing, squeeze bottles and mouths (!) - so much fun exploring and creating!

What does art time look like in your house?

  1. Love this! Also love that you're focussing on the process/experience and not the end product. I often have a goal in mind and probably hinder her exploration a bit. I will give this a go too! x

  2. art without an intended goal. i love it. such fun things that you explored with. our favorite thing to paint with is anything in the house that can be cleaned off :)
