While we're looking at the letter 's' in our playtimes I decided it was time for some slimey, squiggly, sensory spaghetti... stuff?
I cooked the spaghetti, ran it under cold water, then stirred in some vegetable oil and colouring. I hid some dinosaurs in the spaghetti to encourage Vin to get stuck in, then sett up a little invitation to play with some plastic cutlery, bowls, cupcake cases and a dinosaur icecube tray.
I love how he set down to work straight away, with a definite purpose in mind. After uncovering the dinosaurs we ate pretend spaghetti dinner and spaghetti cocktails and tried to build sandcastles
...and pretty soon my house looked like this!
I tried some spaghetti letters - to bring all this frivolous playtime back to the real hardcore learning activity it was meant to be
...but there were spaghetti cupcakes to be enjoyed!
any kind of messy play has to involve kiddo's feet...
I think Vin had the most fun - he chatted to himself throughout our playtime, I'm not sure what he was up to most of the time, but he took his job very seriously
