Print with Objects - 30 Days Play Challenge

I'm pretty sure Little Vin is the happiest kiddo since we started this play challenge - we have cracked out the paints no less than three times since we started (we have also built stuff out of junk, done some investigating and made sticker art - wins all round)

Today's challenge from Anna is to print with objects

I found a whole bunch of things to print with - cookie cutters, kitchen utensils, pinecones - but since Vin had spent the morning filling up on cake at little C's birthday party I decided not to overwhelm him.

I collected together some blocks and we had a little colourful fun...

When we've tried printing instead of painting before I noticed Vin will get frustrated if he can't hold the object when it's covered in paint, so I thought the blocks would be ideal and they wash clean too

He's normally a little apprehensive when I bring something new into our play, but he jumped straight in with this - I think it's our best challenge so far (I know I keep saying that, but then we go have even more fun the next day!)

We used both sides of the bricks to make different shapes and had lots of fun naming the shapes and the colours. If you put yellow paint on a red block this is inexplicably funny to a pre-schooler (who knew?) he kept laughing 'red block yellow' then shaking his head!

We made a helluva lot of masterpieces in our playtime and I will share more when they are dry - I think it is the law of toddler painting that they are not satisfied until the paper is sodden with paint!

Really looking forward to seeing what everyone else uses in their playtime today - Vin loved this so we will def be trying it again sometime soon

  3. Love the different shapes that can be made with one Lego. And so true about the toddler rule of not being done with the painting until the paper is completely covered. Thanks for sharing on Monday Madness.
