While we're looking at fireworks this week we decided to make some rockets with paper plates and cardboard tubes. The kiddos love any project that involves felt-pens and I thought this was a good time to do some exploring with 3d shapes. They had to work on steadying the tube with one hand and colouring with the other - of course their little hands were covered in colour by the time we'd finished!
I made a sparkly one by covering it with foil - because of course I can't let the kiddos have all the fun - then stuck the pieces together with double sided tape and added a sparkly tinsel trail. They are hanging up in our window like real fireworks.
