Back when we were still experiencing sun and warm weather, I had this great idea to make nature ice-cubes and let the kids play with them out in the park to cool down. Of course as soon as this thought entered my brain it started raining cold miserable drizzle. Undeterred we collected some intersting textures and colours and went ahead with our plan.
We used rose petals and dried lavender heads and pinecones and acorns and a thistle head and some purple rocks I
nicked comandeered from a neighbour's driveway... sorted them into a silicone muffin tray (seriously how did I ever cope pre-silicone?) - add a little water and freeze.
Here we are in our raincoats not really wanting to play with these lumps of frozen ice. I took out a bottle of warm water and they practised pouring skills and played melt the ice-cubes instead.
