glow in the dark playdough

I know this looks like a lump of mashed potato with a Halloween decoration stuck to it... but this is actualy our second batch of Halloween playdough... and it glows!

This was one of those ideas I came up with and had no idea if it would work - but I figured I only had half a batch of playdough to lose so why not?

I bought a couple of tubes of glow in the dark facepaint from a toy shop and instead of adding colour or scent to our dough, I squished the facepaint into the middle and kneaded away. This was super sticky but kinda a fun way for a mama to spend naptime!

I left the dough in an airtight jar on the window ledge to 'charge up' during the day and we played with it just as the evening was setting in. When I flicked off the lights Vin panicked a little, but he was properly tickled when he saw the glow! I tried to take a picture under the bedclothes to show you how well this works, but of course the pictures didn't work... you'll just have to take my word for it... and try it too.

p.s. I think a jar of this on a child's nightstand might be a fun alternative to a nightlight
